NEW quarter of studies starts June 2010

The ABF leadership team is excited about the new studies being offered during the 10:45 AM Sunday morning Adult Bible study time.  The classes are not age dependent to allow for a person to experience Bible Study with a diversity of people. 

The studies include the "Explore the Bible" series with a study of the books of 1 and 2 Corinthians.  The Christians in Corinth were struggling with their environment.  Paul heard their struggles and wrote these letters.  The material used for the class contains clearly written, thorough expositions of Bible passages, guiding adults verse-by-verse through selected Scriptures.  This series spends time discussing the scriptures and discussing their application to our lives.  "Explore the Bible" offers a systematic and comprehensive study of Scripture, moving through all 66 Bible books in a sequential fashion, alternating quarter-by-quarter between Old and New Testament studies. The teachers for this class will be Bob Moore, JK Balraj, and Billie Bob Hoskyn.  The teachers will rotate the teaching responsibilities.  This is an open class where a person can jump in at any point and pick up the material for study. The class meets in Room 304.

The second study is a continuation of "Insights into Critical Thinking".  This quarter the study will be a survey of the Old Testament.  The different books of the Old Testament describe some of the same events.  This study will focus on what various reference say about the same event.  It should be noted that philosophy and theology are not academic studies reserved only for a small group of specialized, elite scholars.  As a matter of fact, we are all practicing philosophers and theologians; the only issue is whether or not we have a coherent and consistent structure to our reasoning. 

The teachers for this class are JJ Morris and Doug Bucknell.  The class meets in Room 313.
