Spring Quarter 2010

EXPLORE THE BIBLE is a study of the books of Exodus and Leviticus.  The material used for the class contains clearly written, thorough expositions of Bible passages, guiding adults verse-by-verse through selected Scriptures.  This series spends time discussing the scriptures and discussing their application to our lives. 

The teachers are:

Bob Moore, JK Balraj, and Billie Bob Hoskyn.  

The Class meets in Room 304.

MASTERWORKS provide challenging, Christ-centered Bible study material along with a modern perspective from today's most respected Christian leaders. The books to be discussed are "He Chose the Nails" by Max Lucado (4 lessons) and "Desiring God" by John Piper (9 lessons)

The teachers are:

              Jim Jacot and Juan Garcia.  

The Class meets in Room 303.

CRITICAL THINKING class continues with discussions on the addressing "Why do bad things happen to good people?" This axiological argument deals with the existence of evil. Specifically, if we as Christians have an all-knowing, all-powerful, and all-loving God, how do we explain the existence of pain and suffering in this world? Does God not know about the evil? Is God not powerful enough to stop evil? Critical thinkers search for an emotionally satisfying answer as well as a theologically sound answer.   

The teacher for this class is JJ Morris. 

This class meets in Room 313. 

BEING A PRAYING CHURCH is a class that spends time in corporate prayer.  God has made a special promise about praying together as found in Matthew 18:19-20. Praying together will be the most rewarding adventure in learning what God Himself is like.  Individuals are able to bring their requests to the group and spend time in pray for the Church, the School, and the Recreation Ministries.

                JC Burleson and Doug Bucknell

The class meets in the Prayer Room on the second floor of the Worship Center

SPIRITUAL GIFTS is a class that will guide you through an interactive process to help you further develop your understanding of God's will for your life.  Most of us know we should serve. And most of us want to serve. But a lot of us are not sure just where and how we can best serve. We will take a significant journey that leads us to understand our life calling and purpose in the kingdom of God.
